Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StrideQuest mobile application ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. General Wellness — Not Medical Advice

The App is designed for general wellness and walking motivation only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before starting or changing any exercise routine.

2. User Responsibility

You are responsible for your own safety while walking. Always be aware of your surroundings, follow local traffic and pedestrian laws, and exercise appropriate caution. Do not use the App in a way that distracts you from your environment. The App does not provide navigation or route guidance.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

The App offers optional premium subscriptions ("StrideQuest Premium") with the following terms:

• Billing: Subscriptions are billed through Apple's in-app purchase system. Pricing is displayed in the App before purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Free trials: If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless canceled. Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time.
• Price changes: We may change subscription pricing. You will be notified of any price changes through Apple's standard notification process before they take effect.

4. Apple Health Data

The App accesses Apple Health data (step count and walking/running distance) only with your explicit permission. This data is used solely for App functionality as described in our Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at any time through your device's Health settings.

5. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including artwork, text, designs, characters, animations, sticker designs, and software — is owned by StrideQuest or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any App content.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Attempt to manipulate step data, game progress, or subscription status.
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Redistribute or resell the App or its content.

7. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep the App available and functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We are not liable for any loss of data or progress resulting from App updates, device changes, or service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StrideQuest and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, without limitation, damages for personal injury, loss of data, or loss of profits. Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with Apple Health and Apple's in-app purchase system. Your use of these services is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the operation of third-party services.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App or this website.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
