StrideQuest ("the App", "we", "us") is a walking motivation app for iPhone. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Data We Access

Apple Health Data

With your permission, the App reads step count and walking + running distance from Apple Health. This data is used solely to calculate your daily goals, Energy, journey progress, and walking-related features within the App.

App Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

Some non-health preferences (such as theme, companion, and cosmetic selections) may sync across your devices via your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. Health-derived data is never included in this sync.

2. Subscriptions

StrideQuest offers optional premium subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not collect or store your payment information. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.

3. Analytics and Diagnostics

The App may collect anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics (such as which features are used) to improve the App. These analytics are processed by Firebase Analytics (a Google service) and:

4. No Ads and No Third-Party Tracking

The App contains no advertisements. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), App Tracking Transparency, or any services that track you across apps or websites. Analytics are used solely to understand aggregate product usage.

5. No Account Required

The App does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or log in. There is no user identity system.

6. Notifications

If you grant permission, the App may send local notifications as walking reminders. Notification content is generic motivational text and does not contain health data. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings.

7. Data Storage and Security

Health-derived data is stored in a local database on your device that is excluded from iCloud backup. Non-health preferences may be backed up through standard iOS backup mechanisms. All data remains under your control on your device and your private iCloud account.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

9. Not Medical Advice

The App is designed for general wellness and walking motivation. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
